GarageSeeker respects copyright and expects users and Shop Owners to upload only material they created, are authorized to use, or may otherwise lawfully use. This policy covers copyright complaints about user-submitted photos, reviews, comments, shop logos, and other content.
- Submit a copyright complaintEmail [email protected] with the subject Copyright notice, or mail the notice to the business address below.Identify the copyrighted work or, for multiple works on one site, provide a representative list.Identify the material you believe infringes and provide each precise GarageSeeker URL or enough information for us to locate it.Provide your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.State that you have a good-faith belief the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.State that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the relevant exclusive right or are authorized to act for its owner.Add your physical or electronic signature.
- What happens after a complaintWe log the complaint, review whether it contains enough information, and may request missing details. We may remove or disable access to specifically identified material while preserving information needed to review the complaint, comply with law, and handle a counter-notice or dispute.Where applicable, we notify the uploader and explain the available counter-notice process.A complaint is not an automatic finding of infringement. We may consider authorization, licence evidence, public-domain status, lawful exceptions, mistake, or misidentification.
- Submit a counter-noticeSend it to the same contact with the subject Copyright counter-notice and identify the removed material and the location where it appeared.Include a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification.Include your name, address, telephone number, physical or electronic signature, and the jurisdiction and service-of-process statements required by 17 U.S.C. section 512(g) where that process applies.A compliant counter-notice may be sent to the original complainant, including the contact information it contains. Where the U.S. process applies, material may be restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt unless the complainant gives notice of a filed court action seeking to restrain the challenged activity.
- Repeat infringementIn appropriate circumstances, GarageSeeker may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate users who repeatedly infringe copyright. A complaint alone is not treated as a substantiated violation. We document the evidence and reason for account action and provide notice and available review information where practicable.
- False statements and legal adviceKnowingly making material misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice can have legal consequences. GarageSeeker does not provide legal advice or finally decide ownership disputes between parties. Consider obtaining advice from a qualified lawyer if you are uncertain about your rights.
